ROAM 639 will officially open on Saturday 27th September at 10am by the Mayor and Consort of Waverley, Cllr Liz and Mr Mike Wheatley
To mark the launch of the trail a number of activities are being organised full details of which will be published on the news section of this site. These include:
- A personal odyssey of 24 loops of the trail (153.36 miles) over 7 days by Ian Mayhew. This aims to highlight the 24/ 7 nature of the condition & will commence on Sunday 21st September & conclude on Saturday 27th.
- The Bowl- an ultra run of 10 loops (63.9 miles) of the trail. There will also be the option of the Half Bowl and the Saucer for those who wish to get involved but don’t relish the prospect of 10 laps!
The trail will also be a feature of the National Trust's annual the Great British Walk campaign. We also aim to link the launch to the National Trusts 50 Things to do before you’re 11 3/4 project.
The launch will be promoted as a family day to encourage as many people as possible to explore and enjoy this beautiful part of the country.
