Each year the National Trust organises the Great British Walk this is aimed at encouraging walkers to get out & enjoy the countryside. One of this years featured walks is the Hidden Hindhead Trail in the Devil's Punchbowl this shares some of the tracks that used by ROAM 639.
In the words of the National Trust.. 'Autumn is a great time to walk at Hindhead. See the beech trees, turning orange as autumn kicks in.... bracken turning a russet colour, rowan berries ripening through orange to crimson, and crab apples turning orange-red.'
